It can cause heart disease in men and diabetes in some women.

One study found that certain men produce extra stress hormone cortisol when they are angry. This leads to the rise of blood sugar and blood pressure.

Another study discovered that African-American women with a lot of belly fat can suffer from increased blood sugar when exposed to stress.

Studies were presented at the American Psychosomatic Society conference in Chicago.
